Investigation of possible modification of medical products properties by means of their complexation with macrocyclic ligands

About the group:

In the framework of this topic the possible improvement of physico-chemical and pharmacological properties of medical products and vitamins by their clathration with cyclodextrin, cyclic natural oligosaccharides is investigated.

Toward this end the ability of various cyclodextrins to form inclusion complexes with a number of vitamins and medical products is studied by means of calorimetry, NMR and ultraviolet spectroscopy.

On the basis of experimental data thermodynamic parameters are calculated, basic motive forces and binding manner are determined, the influence of reagents structure on the complex stability is revealed. The degree of vitamins and drug properties changes (solubility, stability) due to their complex formation with cyclodextrins is analyzed.
