This paper is a follow-up to our recent study of the zinc(II) bis(dipyrromethenate)s ([Zn2L2]s) sensory capabilities for furosemide detection. We complement our studies with the results of torasemide fluorescent detection by [Zn2L2]s with 0.037–0.11 μg mL−1 detection limit in organic media. The fluorescent sensory materials based on ethyl cellulose doped with [Zn2(1)2] have been developed. It has been shown that ones have high sensitivity to the loop diuretics presence (in 1-propanol the furosemide detection limit is 24 μg mL−1, while torasemide detection limit is 43 μg mL−1). The sensory materials were successfully used for loop diuretics detecting in human urine samples. The results show the loop diuretics detection using [Zn2L2]s and fluorescent sensory materials based on them to be a simple and highly sensitive method of ones detection in organic media and human urine.
