Young scientists' council

ISC RAS is one of the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the youngest staff on average.
 
Seven young scientists were hired by the Institute in accordance with Orders No. 10115-52 of January 29, 2011 and No. 10115-307 of April 19, 2011 "On Distribution of Additional Jobs for Hiring Young Scientists - Candidates and Doctors of Sciences - by Research Institutions".
 
The average age of the researchers, excluding the post-graduate students, is 48.9 years.
The share of the researchers under 39 is 33.5%.
The Young Scientists' Council of the Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a permanent collegial advisory body comprised of the ISC RAS young scientists (aged 35 and under) who develop and pursue the policy protecting the ISC RAS young scientists' interests related to their professional activity and living conditions.  
The Regulations of the ISC RAS Young Scientists' Council developed in 2003 and approved by the ISC RAS Directorate and an open vote specify the Council aims and stipulate the order of cooperation between its members, the procedure of election of the Council members and the Institute management, as well as the Council rights and duties.
In 2003, the Institute Directorate and the Young Scientists' Council established a scholarship program in memory of G.A. Krestov. It is awarded to the ISC RAS young scientists who have achieved the best results in the research.
The Council receives organizational, advisory and financial support from the ISC RAS Directorate and coordinates the Institute's youth policy.

The aims of the Council are:
• to provide assistance in training of future academic scientists, in doing research, promoting and popularizing the latest achievements of academic science;
• to represent and protect the interests of the ISC RAS young scientists and to help them to exercise their rights in their professional activity, education and everyday life;
• to provide young scientists with information about vacancies, funds, grants, conferences, schools and other events aimed to support young scientists;
• to organize and conduct scientific conferences of ISC RAS young scientists and specialists;
• to arrange and assist in conducting scientific conferences, schools, research and practice seminars, and round tables.

Young scientists of the ISC RAS actively publish the results of their research in Russian and foreign journals included in the Higher Qualification Commission list, Russian Science Citation Index, Scopus and Web of Science abstract and citation databases.
Young scientists from the ISC RAS have been awarded scholarships of the Government of the Russian Federation and other prizes for their achievements.
They have participated in numerous scientific conferences and Russian and foreign internship programs in research centers of Germany, France, Switzerland, Denmark and other countries.

The ISC RAS Young Scientists' Council is the initiator and organizer of the annual All-Russian School-Conference of Young Scientists "Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry of Liquid Phase Systems" ("Krestov Readings").

More than 270 young scientists, post-graduate students and senior undergraduate students of academic institutes, state research centers and universities and research-based enterprises took part in the latest XI All-Russian School-Conference of Young Scientists "Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry of Liquid Phase Systems" ("Krestov Readings-2017") that was held in Ivanovo in 2017. The participants made 10 plenary and 68 oral reports and 75 poster presentations.
Over the years, the conference has attracted participants from Moscow and Moscow region, St Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Arkhangelsk, Syktyvkar, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Rostov-On-Don, Penza, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Yerevan, Yoshkar-Ola, Tyumen, Voronezh, Tver, Vladimir, Irkutsk, Saratov, Samara, Kursk, Tomsk and other places, as well as neighbouring (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan) and more distant countries.

Since December 2016, the ISC RAS Young Scientists' Council has regularly arranged scientific seminars for young scientists. The seminars allow young scientists to exchange their ideas, knowledge and opinions about modern problems of various fields of science and their research in particular, to develop professionally and make new professional and personal contacts. The seminars are open to everyone, regardless of their affiliation with the ISC RAS.
Among the active participants of the seminars are young scientists of the ISC RAS, Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology, Ivanovo State University and other Russian and foreign research organizations.
