#VideoScience Contest Final

On May 4 - 18, 2022, representatives of the major educational and research institutions of Ivanovo City will compete in the First #VideoScience contest.

The participants will be the winners of the qualifying stages among young scientists (students, post-graduate students and research workers under 35 years old) from: G.A. Krestov Institute of Solution Chemistry (ISC RAS, http://www.isc-ras.ru), Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology (ISUCT, https://www.isuct.ru), V.N. Gorodkov Ivanovo Research Institute of Maternity and Childhood Protection (https://niimid.ru), Ivanovo State University (IvSU, http://ivanovo.ac.ru), Ivanovo State Polytechnic University (ISPU, https://ivgpu.com),Ivanovo State Medical Academy (ISMA, https://www.isma.ivanovo.ru), Ivanovo State Power Engineering University (ISPEU, http://ispu.ru) and Ivanovo State Agricultural Academy (IvSAA, http://www.ivgsha.ru). The participants will present their video clips about the most important results of their studies and developments in a concise and accessible form.

The contest will be held in two categories:

1) a video presentation of a scientific study/development in the MP4 format (not longer than 5 minutes);

2) a video abstract of a research paper in the form of a short video clip (up to 3 minutes long).

The video presentations will be assessed by the following criteria:

  1. originality;
  2. simplicity of presentation of the material and its accessibility to a wide audience;
  3. clarity of problem setting and definition of the objectives;
  4. laconism;
  5. scientific novelty, relevance and practical importance of the results.

The video abstracts will be assessed based on the following characteristics:

  1. brevity and accuracy of presentation of the main goal (problem), method and conclusions of the research results and their intelligibility for a wide audience;
  2. ability of the video abstract to draw the audience's attention to the paper and increase the status of scientific publications of Russian scientists in the world scientific community;
  3. form of the video abstract presentation and its ability to attract the attention of business representatives, political and other public figures to the research.

The participants' video clips will be uploaded to the Internet (to the contest portal) to be assessed by the jury and other viewers.

At the Contest Final, the video presentations will be assessed by a jury of researchers, youth and business representatives.

The winners in each of the two categories will be three participants whose video clips will get the highest score in the overall rating. In addition, one of the contestants will be awarded a Public Admiration Prize based on the viewers' vote.
