Oskar Iosifovich Koifman, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, holder of the Order of Honor, Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, laureate of the RF Presidential Award, laureate of the RF Government award, passed away on December 31, 2023.
The name of this outstanding scientist is associated with daring, breakthrough studies in the field of physical, coordination and synthetic chemistry of macroheterocyclic compounds and a globally recognized research school of chemistry of porphyrins and their analogs.
For a long time, Oskar Koifman headed Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology and then one of the research departments at G.A. Krestov Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has made a great contribution to the cause of education of young Russian scientists passing on to them his love of science and constant pursuit of new discoveries.
