Thermodynamics Plus Something Else

06.07.2024

On the first days of July, Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology hosted two scientific conferences at once: XXIV International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics in Russia (RCCCT2024) and XV All-Russian School-Conference of Young Scientists "Supercritical Fluid Technologies in Solving Environmental Problems".

The conferences were attended by over 300 participants from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Italy, France, Hungary, Germany, and the UK; about 40% of them were young scientists.

The proceedings of the RCCT-2024 will be published as a special issue of the Journal of Physical Chemistry. A decision has been made to hold the All-Russian Youth School on Chemical Thermodynamics in 2025 at ISC RAS and ISUCT in Ivanovo. An online seminar and a number of round tables on urgent questions of chemical thermodynamics are also planned.

The young scientists who took part in the thermodynamics conference competed for the traditional best oral and poster presentation awards.

Diplomas and prizes for the best oral report were awarded to:

First-grade diploma – to Anna Garibyan;

First-grade diploma – to Matvei Ilyin:

Second-grade diploma – to Irina Nesterova;

Second-grade diploma – to Valeria Kalinkina;

Third-grade diploma – to Georgy Misikov;

Third-grade diploma – to Valeria Safronova;

for the best poster presentation:

First-grade diploma – to Valentina Sobornova;

First-grade diploma – to Olga Zhinkina;

Second-grade diploma – to Aleksei Eroshin;

Second-grade diploma – to Aleksei Semenchuk;

Third-grade diploma – to Denis Potapov

Third-grade diploma – to Kirill Fedorov.

Diplomas for the best oral and poster presentations were also awarded to:

Artyom Sherudillo;

The XV All-Russian School-Conference of Young Scientists "Supercritical Fluids in Solving Environmental Problems" also closed with the announcement of the results of the competitions of the conference reports. The Valery Lunin award went to Konstantin Belov (ISC RAS, Ivanovo) for his report "Conformational equilibria of fenamates in supercritical fluids at the fluid-crystal interface: a study by the NOESY method", the Viktor Bagratashvili award went to Timur Semenov (National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, Moscow) for his talk "Development of a system of complex in-situ time-resolved optical diagnostics of micro- and nanoparticle formation in supercritical fluids". The Yuri Gorbaty prize was awarded to Yaroslav Zuev (IGIC RAS, Moscow) for his work "Multiple dispersion of carbon nanotubes by the RESS method".

Besides, a special prize from the Organizing Committee was awarded to Elizaveta Ivanova (IOC RAS, Moscow) for her work "Development of the method of sulfide oxidation by molecular oxygen in the presence of g-C3N4 in a supercritical carbon dioxide medium".

The next, jubilee, conference on thermodynamics is going to be held in 2026 in Ekaterinburg, at the Ural Federal University. A year earlier, in 2025, it is planned to hold the next conference on supercritical fluid technologies.

The members of the Organizing Committee thank all the participants and hope to see them at the future conferences!
