Last week our city welcomed a delegation of scientists from Shaanxi Normal University, China, one of the 6 teacher training universities directly governed by the Ministry of Education of China. The university is included in the "211 Project", represents an important center for educating middle school and university teachers, as well as managers in the field of education, and is regarded as "the cradle of teachers" in Northwest China.
The visit started with a few meetings of the Chinese delegation with their Russian colleagues and on September 29, continued with a scientific seminar, where the members of the delegation presented their studies and learned about the research of the chemists in Ivanovo.
Then the members of the delegation were taken on an excursion around the town of Plyos and visited E.D. Stasova Interdom, where a lot of famous Chinese people were taught.
The Russian and Chinese scientists have identified the possible areas of cooperation both in the field of education and research. One of the prospects is to start an international scientific and educational exchange program for undergraduate and graduate students and researchers. The representatives of Shaanxi Normal University, University of Chemistry and Technology and G.A. Krestov Institute of Solution Chemistry are also planning to open a joint scientific and educational center.
